High Season...

Hello All!

First and foremost, I'd like to apologize - it's been a while since I've gotten the time to update my journal. You know, I'm working at an international travel agency during the summer, which directs a substantial number of inbound tourist to Lake Balaton and several other famous Hungarian recrational spots (Danube Bend, thermal baths etc). And since we are right in the middle of the summer (this can be guessed from the weather too - for 3 weeks it has been freakin' hot, say 34-37 Celsius! ) we have work more than enough to deal with. I've found it really difficult to have the time to take my camera for a walk or things like that... (I usually manage to do so at dawn before work (see my fresh macro shots as examples: fav.me/d2tuhrr and fav.me/d2tx0ju), or sometimes in the evening hours. (But mostly, I'm too tired by then to do anything except to sit in a pleasantly cool-kept room. These are rough days, but hey; if one needs the money, it's a better idea to be happy to have work, right?

Because of the things above, I usually search through my older pics and choose from among them to upload to dA instead of taking new ones. The roll of film which I've newly shot using the Zenit camera has been processed in the meantime - and yielded real nice results! All shots are tac-sharp and correctly exposed. The retro-style light meter I've already told you about (you know, the one with two blinking red LEDs) seems to work accurately! The only thing I don't like is that I've found a faint trace of lighter colour on a few shots - this might be due to some light leaking into the film compartment of the camera. It's rather curious, because of the 36 shots, ~32 is completely OK and free of any aberrations. I've already bought a roll of black duct tape, so no matter - it should fix the problem! With my first roll of Ilford PAN 100 black and white film loaded, I'll be on it to make the first non-test pics which will be presented to you here on dA too!

Until then, I'll most likely come up with my first journal feature...so hang tight and stay tuned!
